Sage (they/them) grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia and received dance training at Maritime Dance Academy from the age of 3. Training in many styles such as ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, and tap, they developed a unique style emphasizing both quality and intricacy of movement. During their training, they succeeded in taking technical dance exams under both the Russian and PAEC syllabus. Sage has had the opportunity to work with many choreographers from across Canada of varying styles. This outside experience allowed Sage to develop a creative and diverse style of dance, influenced by partnering, musicality, and floorwork.
In 2022, after graduating from their home studio, Sage continued to dance, teach, and choreograph. They choreographed dances for several age groups which were both performed and competed, as well as developed creative concept videos. In recent years, Sage has continued their training at House of Eights, partaking in video projects and performances. Their recent work focuses on intricate musicality, dynamic movements, and classical technique, creating a satisfying blend of contemporary and modern dance.
