Corporate events in downtown Halifax
Give your team an hour of music and movement. An instructor teaches your group an easy routine to a song you pick, and nobody needs a single day of dance experience.
$200 + HST · One hour · Groups of 3 to 50
Looking for a team event people actually talk about afterwards, for the right reasons? You are in the right place.
House of Eights is a dance studio on Sackville Street in downtown Halifax, an easy walk from the offices and hotels of the city core. For your event, one of our studios is all yours: an instructor teaches your group a fun, easy routine to a song you choose, in any style you like. No audience, no pressure, and no experience needed.
No song in mind? Hand us a theme, a style, or a music genre and let us surprise you. And at the end of the hour we can film a quick video of the whole team doing the routine, for everyone to enjoy (or laugh about) after.
One flat price for the whole group, whether you are a squad of 3 or the entire office. Want the space longer? Add studio time by the hour.
Keep a studio before or after your session for setup, food, speeches, or just more time together. Option to bring food, non-alcoholic drinks, and decorations for your rented time. Add it when you fill out the booking form.
Prices are before HST and per group, not per person. Payment upfront secures your booking.
Most team events split the room into winners and losers. A dance class puts everyone on the same side, working toward one routine, and nobody is left keeping score.
Learning choreography side by side is also a fast way to shake up the usual office dynamics. Job titles do not matter inside the studio, and the new hire picking up the moves faster than the boss is half the fun.
Best of all, there is nothing for your people to prepare. No screens, no gear, no talent required: comfortable clothes, clean indoor shoes, and an open mind is the whole packing list.
Team building days are just the start. Workplaces book the same session for all kinds of occasions:
Celebrating something personal instead? Birthdays, bachelorettes, and every other excuse to dance live on our parties page.
See partiesFrom first message to final pose, here is the whole process.
Fill out the short booking form: the occasion, roughly how many people, and the dates you have in mind. Payment upfront locks in your time.
We reach out to pick the song, the dance style, and any extras like studio time before or after. No song in mind? Give us a theme or a genre and we will choose something the whole team can enjoy.
Your team shows up, we handle the rest. One hour of moving, laughing, and learning a routine together, with a studio all to yourselves.
We save the last few minutes to film the team doing the routine. Instant highlight reel for the next all-hands.
Not at all. Our instructors teach complete beginners every day, and team routines are built so everyone can join in, whatever their age, fitness level, or sense of rhythm.
Got dancers on the team? Tell us when you book and we will fold in something they can show off.
Sessions are for groups of 3 to 50 people, and the price is the same $200 + HST whether you are 3 or 50. Just the 2 of you? That is a private lesson, and we offer those too.
Whenever works for your team. Weekday daytime slots are usually wide open, and lunch hour and after-work sessions are popular. Evenings and weekends depend on our class schedule, so give us a date or two and we will make it work.
Yes. Food, non-alcoholic drinks, and decorations are all welcome during your booked time.
One rule: nothing can be hung or stuck on the walls. If you want time to set up beforehand or to keep socializing after the routine, add extra studio time to your booking.
Of course. Payment upfront secures your booking, and we are happy to provide a receipt for your expense report. If your accounting folks need anything specific, just mention it in the booking form.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and clean indoor shoes. Nobody has to change out of their office casual unless they want to.
We can. Our favourite place to host you is the studio on Sackville Street, an easy walk from most of the city core, where the mirrors, the sound system, and the neon all do their part.
But if your event needs us at your office, venue, or conference, we will come to you. Just make sure the space has a good sound system and room to move, and we will adapt the session as needed.
Plans change. Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours the session is forfeited, and rescheduling means booking a new one.
Tell us about your team and the occasion, and we will take it from there. See you at the studio.
