House of Eights is a dance studio on Sackville Street in downtown Halifax. For your party, one of our studios is all yours: an instructor teaches your group a fun, easy routine to a song you choose, in any style you like. No audience, no pressure, and no experience needed.
No song in mind? Plenty of groups just hand us a theme, a style, or a music genre and let us surprise them. And at the end of the hour we can film a quick video of your group doing the routine, so the memory leaves the studio with you.
One flat price for your whole group, whatever the occasion. Want the space longer? Add studio time by the hour.
Book your studio before the lesson to decorate and set up, or keep it after to keep celebrating. Option to bring food, non-alcoholic drinks, and decorations for your rented time. Add it when you fill out the party booking form.
Prices are before HST and per group, not per person. Payment upfront secures your booking.

We are right downtown on Sackville Street, steps from dinner and drinks, so the dance party slots perfectly into the start of a big night out. And the video you leave with tends to become the most rewatched part of the whole weekend.
Kids, teens, adults: if there is a cake involved, we will build the party around it. Pick the birthday person's favourite song and our instructor turns it into a routine the whole group can learn together, whatever the mix of ages and left feet.
And if the birthday celebrant is one of our regulars, celebrate in their favourite place: we will build them a custom routine at their level, no beginner pacing required.
For kids' parties, a parent or guardian stays for the fun, and you can rent extra studio time before the lesson to decorate and set up, or after for cake and presents.

Fill out the short booking form: the occasion, roughly how many people, and the date you have in mind. Payment upfront locks in your time.
We reach out to pick the song, the dance style, and any extras like studio time for decorating. No song in mind? Give us a theme, a style, or a genre and we will choose something perfect.
Your group shows up, we handle the rest. One hour of dancing, laughing, and learning a routine together, with a studio all to yourselves.
We save the last few minutes to film your group doing the routine, so the memories last long after the music stops.
Not at all. Our instructors teach complete beginners every day, and party routines are built so everyone can join in, whatever their age or ability.
Already dancers? Tell us when you book. We will raise the level, or choreograph something custom your group can really show off.
Parties are for groups of 3 to 50 people, and the price is the same $200 + HST whether you are 3 or 50. Just the 2 of you? That is a private lesson, and we offer those too.
Yes. Food, non-alcoholic drinks, and decorations are all welcome during your booked time.
One rule: nothing can be hung or stuck on the walls. And if you want the space decorated before the party starts, book extra studio time ahead of your lesson to set up.
Absolutely, we host parties for all ages. For kids' parties, a parent or guardian needs to be present for the whole booking.
Any song, any style, or hand us a theme and we will run with it. Cheeky is encouraged: think a Beyoncé Bachelorette Bash or a Spice Up Your Wife party. Only have a genre or a vibe? We will pick something perfect for you.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and clean indoor shoes. Costumes and matching outfits are very welcome.
Life happens. Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours ahead and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours the session is forfeited, and rescheduling means booking a new one.
