As a freelance artist, he has performed at FODAR, Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival, Kinetic Open Studio Series, and more, presenting Blur, co-created with Marrin Jessome. In 2023, he was commissioned by Nostos Collectives for a week-long creative residency. He has also worked as a teacher and choreographer at various dance studios in Halifax. In 2024, Isaac relocated to Calgary, Alberta, to join Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, performing in their 40th anniversary shows Call and Response and Reminiscing in Tempo.

What do you want people to get from your class?

I want people to leave my class feeling uplifted; whether it be from the positive energy in the studio, an emotional release, or a combo they just loved. My class isn’t about perfecting choreography or performing to the absolute best of your ability. I’m all about letting go, getting out of your head and into your body, and allowing dance to take you away.

What motivates you to dance?

Dancing is what I love to do. For me, dance isn’t something I’ve mindfully chosen; it’s part of who I am. What motivates me to keep working is knowing that dancing is where I belong and what I hope to be involved with forever.

What are some highlights of your career as a dancer/choreographer?

In 2018, I was lucky enough to be able to move to California to further my dance training. Since then, I’ve been given opportunities to dance and work with artists I’ve looked up to across Canada and the United States. I’ve choreographed and taught for various studios along with assisting some of my favourite choreographers. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given and am so excited for the future.
