What do you want people to get from your class?
I always want dancers to leave feeling like they have learned something that will take their dancing to the next level. I enjoy teaching the techniques behind everything, while also exploring new ways to bring out the performer that lies within each of us! You can always count on me to give you lots of room in our choreography to add in your own SPICE! I love to teach as much as I can within each class but I also take pride in creating a fun environment for everyone.
What motivates you to dance?
Dance to me is everything. I started dance when I was 4 years old and it has been my favourite thing in life since! It is a way to not only connect with other people but to connect with yourself. It acts as an outlet for me personally and allows me to explore my creativity. I have met some of my best friends through dance and have had some of my best experiences in life through dance! I hope everyone at some point in their lives gets to explore what dance can do for you.
What are some highlights of your career as a dancer/choreographer?
I grew up as a competitive dancer with the dream of moving to Toronto, Ontario to further my training and knowledge of dance. In 2015 I made the move and began my journey of training in a bigger city. I have graduated the George Brown College Commercial Dance Program and since then have had opportunities to work for multiple dance/performance companies such as Magen Boys Entertainment, Toronto’s Babe Squad, High Society Cabaret and Nostos Collectives. I am extremely passionate about building onto the training I already have, to take me even further with dance. My most recent dance endeavour is establishing my own commercial dance program, which allows me to work with some really talented Halifax dancers and take them to the next level. Aside from teaching mature dancers, I also teach kids within the city. I thoroughly enjoy working with the young ones to instil in them that their passions and talents can take them anywhere they wanna go!
