If you really want to get started with drop-in dance but can’t attend our normally scheduled classes, private lessons may be right for you. Additionally, if any of the following apply, you may find that Private Lessons can offer you a better way to getting started:

  • You are not comfortable dancing in front of others yet and want to gain confidence
  • You have trouble learning in a group setting and want more focused attention
  • You have unique mobility limitations and need more specialized instruction
  • You are working towards dancing at an upcoming event (wedding, performance, etc)

“This studio is one of the best things to happen to the Halifax dance community. A true gift to dancers of all levels. The facility is clean and spacious and in a great location. The faculty is wonderful and many great guest teachers are brought in frequently.”

“My experience this month with House of Eights has been AWESOME! As a former dancer, I was nervous about trying a drop-in class after a 10 year break from dancing. The instructors are very helpful, and there are courses catered to dancers of all skill levels.”

Kat D.

“I stopped dancing for years because I felt too intimidated and self-conscious to go to drop-ins. When House of Eights first opened I read that they were “inclusive and open to everyone” and decided to give it a try. From the very first class I’ve taken I have felt welcomed, encouraged, challenged, and supported. Every instructor is friendly, talented, and pushes you to be your best. Every time I take a class I make new friends. Every time I take a class I feel more confident. Thank you House of Eights for creating the perfect nurturing environment for me to get back in touch with my creativity. Thank you for helping me fall in love with dance again.”

“House of Eights is a great place to learn dance in a fun, open, environment where, as someone who never took a dance class before, I felt welcomed from the first class. The instructors pay close attention to each attendees’ level of understanding and pace the classes accordingly. The classes vary in structure so with each different style of class you can expect to be uniquely challenged”

Robert M.

“House of Eights is one of the most welcoming spaces I have experienced in Halifax. The community they have built is unlike anything I have experienced at other dance studios.”
