First Visit

WE’RE NOT YOUR TRADITIONAL DANCE STUDIO

You can drop-in to any class, any time. We work on new choreography and skills each week, so you don’t have to commit to taking the same class every week or worry when you’ve missed a class. Try heels and jazz funk one week, then contemporary and hip hop the next. Find what works for YOUR schedule.

CHECK-IN, GET COMFY

Check-in to class on our iPad at the front desk, then come in to meet the instructor and make yourself at home.

KEEP US IN THE KNOW

We want to make sure you get what YOU want from our dance classes -whether it’s improved technique or just a fun workout. Our instructors are open to any input to provide you with a better class experience.

Please keep us aware of any injuries or limitation you may have when you arrive in class so we can suggest proper modifications to keep you safe.

BOOK AHEAD

We always suggest booking ahead as some classes do tend to fill up. You may do so on our site or through the Mindbody app. If a class is full, you will be added to a waitlist – please make sure you sign up to receive email notifications, so you can be notified if you have been added to a class.

CHOOSING YOUR FIRST CLASS

If you’ve never danced before or you’re trying a new style, we recommend you start with our Foundations/Grooves classes. These classes will introduce the basics of movement in that style.

If you are looking for something a little more fast-paced or if you have some dance experience and are just getting back into dance again, our beginner and open level classes would be perfect for you. Please note that we provide easier or more challenging options of certain movements in class so you can adapt to what works best for your body.

If you want to be challenged as a dancer and performer, our inter/advanced are the way to go, as well as any of our masterclasses with guest choreographers.

To help you find the right level and styles for you, we offer 2 weeks of unlimited classes to all new dancers for just $30.

BRANCH OUT

We offer a wide range of styles, levels and time slots to meet the needs of our diverse dance community. If you’ve done hip hop your whole life, why not try a contemporary or vogue femme class? We encourage dancers to diversify their training and learn as many styles as possible.

IF YOU FIND IT CHALLENGING, THAT’S GREAT!

We always encourage trying something new! If you find your first few classes challenging, that’s part of the fun! Nobody’s perfect or gets all the moves right away, especially if you’ve never danced before. This is a relaxed and supportive environment -pick a goal for yourself in each class and just aim for that, even if it’s only getting a couple moves.

WE ARE A COMMUNITY

We are all about building a family here and encourage you to introduce yourself to others in class. We do not have a competition dance team -instead, we focus on being a home where Halifax’s dance community can come and jam, no matter the background or training.

Follow us on social media to stay up to date with events and other social gatherings we have to keep you connected out of class as well.

THIS IS A SAFE SPACE

Everyone must feel respected, valued for who they are, and able to express themselves, regardless of their gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, age, physical or mental ability.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts to allow time to check-in to class through our iPad and settle in. If you still need to sign in or create an account, please arrive 10 minutes early and ask your instructor or the front desk if you need assistance. All registration can be done online on our site or through the Mindbody App.

Don’t forget a water bottle. We have some cups just in case you forget but encourage clients to bring their own.

Wear stretchy, breathable clothing, and bring the appropriate footwear for your class (see our FAQ page for more info on what footwear to bring for each style).
